Introduction
As most of us were aware, the dispute between Disney and Charter that prompted a blackout of Disney-owned channels to Spectrum customers on August 31, 2023 finally ended on September 11th. Now that it is over, there were some positive outcomes for Spectrum’s TV and Internet subscribers.
- Spectrum Customers with TV services
With this agreement, Spectrum customers subscribed to the TV Select package will gain access to the basic ad-supported version of DIsney+. Spectrum TV Select Plus customers will also be provided access to the ESPN+ streaming service. This means subscribers can enjoy a diverse array of sports coverage, including live events, commentary, analysis, and more. This expanded access to premium sports content enhances the overall entertainment experience for sports enthusiasts. Spec - Spectrum Customers with Internet only
In the new deal, customers with only broadband services will be offered streaming services of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. The prices for these services are comparable to other platforms. - Enhanced Value and Variety of Entertainment:
The inclusion of ESPN and ESPN+ enriches the value and variety of entertainment options available to Spectrum subscribers. In addition to the existing lineup of channels and services, customers now have access to a comprehensive sports package. This caters to a wider range of interests, ensuring that there’s something for everyone, from sports fans to movie buffs and beyond.
Overall, the latest contract agreement between Disney, ESPN, and Charter significantly enhances the sports content available to Spectrum customers. It not only provides access to premium sports channels but also includes ESPN+, adding a new dimension to the entertainment experience. This partnership bolsters the value of Spectrum subscriptions and underscores Charter’s commitment to delivering diverse and high-quality content to its customers.
